[ Nodding sadly. ]

Yeah, never really thought I'd miss them but ehe, [ Sheepish laugh. ] they're pretty... miss-able.

[ Brianna's siblings have kidnapped K and taken her inside to play, leaving the two "old people" to talk outside ] I know, right? [ Brig slips out his pack and motions to Brianna if it's all right he smokes ] Just when we'd all gotten together, we all get sort of split a part.

I guess you could email or contact her via her number on MAYAnet. [ Brig pulls out his phone and searches it up. He reaches it out to Brianna ] She was kind enough to give some seeds from their orchard in the Wolf's Ward. [ He smiles remembering that night. But just a half-smile. ]

Honestly, I was more worried that I might be taking you away from your blade mates. They seem rather... clingy.

[Sounding a touch dry now.]

Still. Family is family, so.

[ It's not so much embarrassment as it is nerves. He's never driven a car before. Sure, his Dad was a mechanic, but they'd never had enough to indulge in an actual car of their own. Trips to school were school buses and then actual buses. And a lot of walking. ]

So uh, how...? [ Gesturing lamely towards the pedals. ] Sorry, I didn't expect it to feel so light. So step on it just a little, huh?

[She has spent the entire day observing Brianna Lopez and Michael Lamont from where they were seated at the back of her classroom in Balamb. It didn't distract her from doing her job (she's well past the point where something like that could affect her), but it certainly did warrant a lot of attention.

The boy still wasn't opening up, but he had looked marginally better. Prior to Brianna's arrival, he used to constantly look like he was shrinking into his own seat, jump at every little noise, and give a wide berth to any man or other boy in the area.

Now, at least, he actually spoke. Granted, it was just two times (one to respond to Brianna asking for his name, and another to ask the other Changeling if she was going to be back tomorrow), but two times was plenty for a special case like his.

"Special case". What a kind way of putting it.

She's watching Michael flee from her classroom now, and then turning, once he's gone, to measure Brianna's reaction. No words yet: she needs to see how the girl took it.]

[Have a text from your father after probably not seeing him since that pizza dinner and blade meet of yours at Kaz's penthouse.]

[So he's at the shooting range right after lunch with the usual people, waiting just outside, smoking a cigarette.

Brianna's due for her usual session with him; it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he was actually planning on leaving Falner earlier, specifically after his talk with Josh.

It does suck like that. Hopefully it won't be as bad as I imagined, though.

[ She takes it and notes down Kasumi's number. ]

Thanks. Wow, that was really nice of her! I hope you didn't have to owe her something or anything of that sort.

[ Fishing, fishing... ]

[ How does one describe the amount of pressure... Hmm. ]

Actually, [ She places a hand on Josh's arm, pressing down lightly and keeping it steady. ] kind of like that when you're just starting out. Then if the road is clear or if you need to speed up, you kind of apply more pressure gradually! [ Demonstrating it still with her hand on Josh's arm. ]

[ That is... slightly true?

She gives Lia a sheepish laugh. ]

Yeah. Family is family! Besides, I'd kill for any short vacation I can get.

[ She bent down to gather her things, and raises her head to notice that Aria's looking at her. ]

...What? [ Her response isn't snarky or mean, though. In fact, she looks to her side and turns around a bit to see if Aria's looking at someone else, before turning her attention back at Aria. ]

[ Her immediate response is Am I in trouble? ]

[ She pauses for a bit and smiles. Yes, it makes her happy that Hikaru's actually looking for her company. Sometimes she feels like she's ~~bothering him~~ doing him a favor when she pops in to spend time with him. ]

Anyway, not really doing anything. Whatsup? :)

Indeed. And you might as well take some before things get busy, right?

[Blinking now, and smiling. This one's sharp, and she's only going to get sharper with more experience.]

[Not a lot of her comrades are very upfront about their emotions these days.]

[While he hasn't quite forgiven you for saddling him with a cat... no. No, you're not in trouble.]

[It's a big thing to ask for: he knows this. He's also wondering if this is even a good idea in the first place, but he's sending the message anyway.

[ She's stepping out her car, lugging her gun case behind her. She spots Alistair waiting outside and walks up to him with a big smile. ]

Hellooooo~ [ She greets him sweetly, the kind of greeting she would give almost anyone she trusts. ]

[An incline of the head, then - surprisingly - him reaching into his coat and offering his pack in your direction as soon as you're close enough.

He's never actually done that before.]

[ ...to both statements. Insert subtle eyeroll here. It would be nice to have a normal vacation without the usual weird shenanigans they get into. ]

Same here. I'm okay, I guess. Usually people warm up to me very fast but...

[ She shrugs. ]

He did go through an incredibly tough time. Had to read the file you sent me.

[ Blinking at the text she just received.

She's been wondering when Hikaru would take her. She knows some of the rest went with Death himself.
