A Late Birthday Party / MAY 26, 2063 Night

[ After a short "vacation" at Tokyo, Brianna sends a text to her friends. It's a general invitation that stretches from her blade mates to her mentors, to well, the whole of Netsach (as long as she knows them. Also extends to some Zangyaku friends). Of course, she asks her parents for permission first. ]
SENT: 03:00 PM
Hello friend! It would make me very happy if you could make it to Haven this Saturday to celebrate my 520th birthday. Drinks on me. :)
- OOC note: Feel free to tag in whenever you like, whatever you like.
- May 21, 2063: Date of text
- May 26, 2063: Date of party
May 26 : Open, because "Hello, Mr. Falner."
It has, admittedly, been a while since Riley's wandered this way.
Dressed now in a bowler hat and a suit, a nod to the charm of the Roaring 20's and making the rounds as best as he can, cane and all. Don't knock it -- he thinks it makes him look rather dignified, and he'd be right. ]

Smiling now, and lifting his glass in his good friend's direction.]
i hate this i want more icons for him now
Take away the flashy lights and swing the music in a certain direction, this kind of reminds me of something.
[ Tempting, very tempting to go -- oh, bloody hell, why not: ] Think we can bring back the phrase "beer and skittles", Aidan?
ruh-oh :))
I don't see why not. We are, as they say, "some of the hottest items on the market" these days.
[A tad wry at that point. Jessie insisted on the whole PR stint, but really.]

It's good to be out. [ Tossing you a quietly grateful look. ] It was so kind of Brianna to remember me.
[ And then, of course: ] Lia is going to rag on me for this. But a party is a party and a gentleman never turns down an invitation from a lady.
[ Taking that seat now and gesturing for the bartender to send his favorite drink his way. ]

So! Does the Daywalker talk alcohol, or alcohol?
[Naturally, this one has two bottles now, and both of them happen to be among Riley's favorites.]

You better find us a table. [ Wry, bloody charming smile sent your way, old friend. ] That's going to take awhile.

Your wish is my command, good sir.
[And leading the way now~]
yeah, this definitely happens after aidan
He feels sorry for anyone who catches your eye tonight.
Following the Blade King now, taking a seat at his table of choice. ]
Your newest daughter is charming. [ Oh, which of those two lovely drinks to choose. ] I'll need to go up to her in a bit to greet her properly.

Oh.
It's a good thing that he's just finishing up his set. And Selene is giving him a knowing look, of course, one that says go ahead, I'll cover for as long as you need.
Heading down from the turntables now, to wherever Riley happens to be.]
Riley-san.
[Have one flustered, semi-flushed DJ of an angel throwing a tentative smile your way as he comes around.]

( He is one of the few allowed to
saythink that, okay. ) ]Done already? And here I was looking forward to seeing you up there.
[ Canting his head towards the bar. ] A round on me then?

[Hee.]

And here I thought I would be missing another opportunity to see you in your element.
[ It's one of the things he's missed. And one of the reasons he's grateful for the advances in technology -- and the way your adoring fans have put them to use.
The nice ones, at least. The others... well. You have a good number of people willing to intervene. ]

Giving you a Look as you're coming around to her table. No words, just yet. She would very much like you to explain yourself.
(But she is actually kind of happy to see you. Shh.)]

I couldn't very well miss out on your new student's birthday party.
It would be bad form. [ Gesturing to one of the staff he'd been speaking with earlier and then rounding back with a flute of champagne. ] You look ravishing, my dear.
[ That line deserves a smile at the least. ]

[Hmph!]

Offering a hand your way, in a manner that a Victorian gentleman would ask a lady for a dance. Just the manner, though: ] Allow this ancient one the pleasure of buying you a drink?
[ Come on, Lia. He's been good. ]

Hopping up to him now! ]
Good evening Mr. Falner! So nice to have you here. [ She gestures to his getup. ]
Fancy seeing someone brighten up the place with tasteful clothes!

Taking Brianna's hand with the effortless motion of someone who's done this before. ] It was a bright spot in my day to see your invitation, Brianna. [ Yep, kissing the back of your hand now. Such an old-school gentleman. ]
Happy Birthday.

Aw, thank you! I couldn't not invite you, yknow!

You're a gem, Brianna. Don't let anyone ever tell you different.
[ He means it, too. ] Would you like a drink?
(no subject)
CAUSE HE'S IN A SUIT!

I'm afraid that I'm not up-to-date with current fashions, Brigade.
And thank you. [ Lifting the glass to his lips. ] I do hope that you're enjoying yourself.

[ Saluting you back, soldier. ]
It is always better when one takes time to enjoy oneself.
[ Sipping his drink again. Letting out a pleased sigh at the taste of it. ]
