A Late Birthday Party / MAY 26, 2063 Night

[ After a short "vacation" at Tokyo, Brianna sends a text to her friends. It's a general invitation that stretches from her blade mates to her mentors, to well, the whole of Netsach (as long as she knows them. Also extends to some Zangyaku friends). Of course, she asks her parents for permission first. ]

Hello friend! It would make me very happy if you could make it to Haven this Saturday to celebrate my 520th birthday. Drinks on me. :)

[ She spots Brig sitting by the bar, and she yells out his name while making her way to her blade mate. ]

Brig!! [ She's waving a hand at him to make it easier for him to spot her. ]

Yay you're here! And you're wearing what I chose! [ She's gushing, enthusiastic to see Brig out. At a party. Soldier needs a break, yo. ]

I knew I should have made you wear a pink camo.

[ The logic behind pink camo eludes him. Camouflage. In pink. You'd be a target screaming to be shot, unless you were hiding in a Sakura tree that is. ] Happy birthday, Bri. [ He says with a big smile, hugging her by the waist and lifting her off her feet, twirling her in a full circle before putting her down. ] You look fabulous. [ She really does. He finds himself eyeing the crowd around him for anyone giving her any looks he doesn't like. ]

Of course I'd wear what you picked for me. They're really nice. [ With the slim fit pants, he actually liked how they fell on him. J said he pulled it off. K just kept whistling whenever he passed. ] J said thank you for forcing me into something different. K said that I should ask you to dress me up more often, in-between whistling at me. [ Brigade laughs ] I don't think I could pull off pink camo though.

[ Aaand she's giggling, because there is NO way she would resist to that. Because physically, she can't.

She does notice Brig looking especially protective, not because there's a danger looming around, but... well, boys. ]

Thanks! Hope you've having a great time. I can take care of myself, you know. [ She's still giggling with a hand over her mouth. ]

Preeeetty sure I'm used to this kind of stuff. [ A voice at the back of her head goes: Really though, are you? but she's showing no tell-tale signs of that. ]

Well, thanks for trusting my fashion sense and you know I do agree with K! Maybe I should dress you up more often!

[ Brigade gives her a look ] I know you can. But it doesn't mean I or the rest of the Hounds won't still watch out for you. [ He's smiling as he says this ]

I'm having great time actually. It's all so new to me [ He motions to everything ] but I'm glad you gave me the chance of finally experiencing EDM in a club. I, well, never had the chance because of Disquiet.

And yes, I am very open to you dressing me up more. [ He really is ] Just go easy on me, okay? No high fashion and wild haute couture? [ He lets out a laugh ]

Actually... I think I should be watching out for you too.

[ Smirking now as a couple of girls pass by, nudging at each other and eyeing Brig. ]

I'd like to think I did a really good job but hey, even the priciest of clothes can look like rags on the wrong people. [ Viciously eyeing those tacky girls who think they stand a chance with Brianna's Captain America of a blade mate. Also may have said the latter part out loud. ]

Anyway~ [ Her voice turns sweet again. ] It's not a problem. Glad you're enjoying! How're you liking Haven so far? I'd guess this is your first time here?

I can have him wear more spiffy clothes now too.Probably keep the Netsach Coat on though.:))

[ Brigade glances to where Brianna was looking and sees two skimpily dressed women. It's all just skin to Brig but he admits they do, in fact, do not carry what they're wearing, and not wearing, well at all. His standards for fashion have been set a lot higher since meeting Brianna and Kaz, and the bar only moved higher with her exquisite choice for her birthday ] It's like they ran out of money to buy cloth or something.

[ He looks back at Brianna, no attention given to the women at all which would need returning to the Hounds Princess ] Thank you. That would've been awkward. [ He smiles at her ] I'm loving it very much. I'm already thinking about speaking to Selene again later, and maybe Inquisitor Kyriff. He gives the metaphor "symphony of Angels'" a whole new meaning.

Yeah, [ His smile turns sheepish ] it is. Never really had the [ He looks for the word ] guts[?] to come over here alone. And we all got pretty busy, pretty fast so I was never able to take Josh up on his offer to take me here.

[ She smiles at Brig. ]

Well, anything I can do for the blade daddy!

[ And it's true given how many times Brig has been very protective of her, trying his best to keep her out of harm's way while letting her learn at the same time. ]

Actually since Josh showed me this place, I think I'm going to be around here a lot now!

[ He's not quite sure how to take that. Yes, he's the oldest (technically, Brianna's 500 years of Arcadia not included) of the Blade but... stop overthinking it. And just take it. ] You put it in such a nice way, Bri. I know I'm the blade's over-protective stiff. [ He laughs as he says it, obviously taking it as a compliment. Someone's got to do it. Watch over these kids. Yes, even Taning at times. ] You guys are special to me.

Well, then at least I can always try to look for your face in the crowd if ever I find myself wandering into Haven. [ Then belatedly ] Your parents relaxing a bit on the reins? Or are you going faerie rebel? [ He's chuckling at the thought ]

If I was a rebel, would you shoot me down?

[ She's joking with Brig's soldier side.

Because she's already slightly buzzed and totally makes jokes like that now. ]

Actually, my parents have always let me do what I want, as long as what I want doesn't get in the way of the things I have to do! Like school... [ Yeah right Brianna, school? Like you really went to school. ] ...uhm, Hunting duties, family things... Yeah!

[ It's easier to let his guard down with the War Hounds. Moreso Brianna and Kaz. The youth exudes from them. ] You're the better shot, remember? [ He laughs. She really was. He had a better throwing arm so he stuck with that. ]

But, yeah, probably. [ He sets it with a sudden change in tone and a serious look on his face. Then smiles and adds ] With a bottle of tequila and Bacardi 151, till you tap out and behave. [ He's joking and his smile and tone let Bri know it. ]

[ Brigade holds his beer out for a toast. ] I know you won't let it get in the way. You're a good girl, Bri. [ Brig smiles bumps his shoulder to hers like an older brother would ] And if you feel like you need a bodyguard who won't do anything till things get out-of-hand, you know you can always text me. I'll just sit on a couch or by the bar and fend off, well, [ He motions to yet another pair of tacky-looking girls he sees pass by. He doesn't notice if they were checking him out. Brig doesn't really care. ] while you go and have your fun. [ He laughs ]

[ She giggles at that. ]

I know I am. But while we're on the topic of tequila...

[ She pulls out two shots from the bar table. ]

Celebratory birthday shot with the birthday girl?

Not saying no to that. [ Brigade takes one shot glass from her ] Happy birthday, Brianna. [ He smiles with the glass motioned in a toast ]

It is her birthday after all! ]
