A Late Birthday Party / MAY 26, 2063 Night

[ After a short "vacation" at Tokyo, Brianna sends a text to her friends. It's a general invitation that stretches from her blade mates to her mentors, to well, the whole of Netsach (as long as she knows them. Also extends to some Zangyaku friends). Of course, she asks her parents for permission first. ]

Hello friend! It would make me very happy if you could make it to Haven this Saturday to celebrate my 520th birthday. Drinks on me. :)

Handing that bottle over. ] Yeah, you are definitely off with the Brotherhood in that respect.

Yeeeeah... [He blushes, takes a swig and passes it back.] He's an oni-tsukai... I don't see him as often, but I kind of love the dork, so Mani was out.

[ He's falling quiet, but there's a smile on his face. ]

And I guess he's as committed to you as you are to him?

I mean, hey. Zangyaku's pretty demanding.

Well, yeah... We've been together a while. Zangyaku was always his dream, just as Netsach was mine. Circumstances put me with the Brotherhood and Netsach in a weird way.

[There's a shrug, but it's more "Elaine works in mysterious ways" than "What're you gonna do, right?"]

[ There's a look on this one's face at that: just a little somber, a little contemplative and gone when you blink. ]

Well, the Brotherhood's pretty awesome for a bunch of really crazy guys with a lot of faith and access to some pretty sweet guns.

[ He's chuckling when he says that. ]

Would have joined up myself, but catechism's not my style. Besides, Leviathan keeps me busy and building things always was more my thing.

Yeah... First time I saw Vaizards in action... I may have run smack into an Amrita.

[He wasn't this still before, Renae. There's still that energy bubbling under the surface, as he lights up.]

[ YEP. CRAZY GUYS DEM BROTHERHOOD.

He's also whistling because run smack into an Amrita kid, don't you have Danger Sense? ]

You sound pretty damn proud of that.

[ Yes, he is amused. ]

Proud? No. Nearly got myself killed. My royal facepalm moment, and the first time I ever went out on the battlefield too.

[ Wibbly now, because haha, not his proudest moment. It's just that he's learned to laugh at his own idiocy. ]

Well, that's the good thing about making it out alive, squirt.

You make mistakes, you learn, you don't do it again.

[ He's giving you a genuine smile now. ]

[ Kaz nods at that, because he's been learning more and more lately. ]

Hopefully the learning is enough to keep me alive.

[ That makes him chuckle. ]

You do that. I've never died myself, but I know a couple of people who have and it's a thing they'd rather not repeat.

[ Unless you were his Uncle David, but that one's a unique case of he'd rather not know. ]

[ The kid's smiling at you then, shrugging and taking another drag off that cig. ]

Last thing I want is to get my Blade killed. So yeah, m'gonna learn. What was the line from that classic? Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

[ Wow, you listen to really old stuff. How old are you again?

He'll just shake his head at that and then takes a final drag from his cigarette before he kills it on the nearest ashtray. ]

[ He'll be taking another swig off that wine bottle now, eyes all sparkly.

After he sets that on the table, he lights up again. ]

[ And he's going to resist the sudden urge to quirk a brow in your direction and instead clap you lightly on the shoulder as he gets up. He's had enough time to get a feel of the kind of person you are, but that shiny-eyed look you have is making him a bit twitchy. ]

I'm going to get back to work.

[ This People thing is awkward. ]

Okay. I've probably had enough of a time-out anyway.

[ He gets up, stretching his arms up over his head and letting out a breath. ]

[ He throws a smile your way and heads on down, back into the fray. Maybe he can try and get Yulia or Josh to dance. ]
