[ Wondering whether or not she should be honest...
Ah well, fuck it. ]
Nothing, nothing. Just can't help but feel like your fate is intertwined with hers a lot, yknow with all the little things and the not-so-little things here and there. I kinda want to get to know my Daddy more outside of this whole Aria thing.
[ She realizes how that must have sounded, so she follows up with: ]
I mean, not that I mind or anything. Just seems like almost everything reminds you of her, that's all. [ She looks up at him with sad eyes. ]
[ She sends a reassuring smile over to him and shakes her head. ]
It's not really my night per sé, more of something I got forced to go to. And well, I'm fortunate enough to have you as my date, Daddy. I don't really mind if we talk about that, if that's what makes you feel better. I mean, what kind of daughter would I be if I only chose to focus on the parts of you that I liked, right?
[ She rubs his arm, juuuust to make sure he gets the point. ]
Besides, I'd be really hurt if you chose to hide things from me... [ Insert Brianna Puppy Eyes ]
That's alright. Not like they were interesting individuals anyway. Business and money talk can get tiring really fast.
[ Then she remembers how her parents liked dragging her to these kind of things for the sole purpose that she learn to interact with these people - "They will be your future partners, Brianna, for when you take over things."
She huffs a few strands of stray hair away from her face. ]
They only really talk to you because they need something from you. Well, usually.
[And thankfully, the food IS excellent. More excellent, in fact, than their company, which returned to the table in order to eat with them and try to make nice all over again.
Suffice to say, the pair left a little after their meals. There were better places to hang out.
Hang out was precisely what they did until a little past 1 AM, which led them both back to waiting out on the curb for Hikaru's car to come around and fetch them.
Smiling down at his date now.]
As always, the best part of the event was the part where we weren't in it.
[And the windows are going down as he's pulling back, letting the car drive them both home. He wants to enjoy a cigarette in his own vehicle, of course, at his leisure.

This feels vaguely like being put under a microscope.]
What?
[Ask away. He'll probably respond! You're his daughter, after all.]

For shame. He really shouldn't be this hung up over somebody. It's embarrassing, it's compromising, it's dangerous, and --
-- Hikaru Shinta, you have got it bad.]
Well, I can't really deny that. [Warm, apologetic.] Sorry. This was supposed to be your night. I don't want to rain on your parade.

Why he keeps getting mixed up with fairies, he has no clue.
Chuckling, half-fond, half-fondly-exasperated.]
I'll try not to. I still need a lot of practice with this whole opening up thing.
no subject
Okay, fiiine. I understand. It's not like I recite everything about me either. [ She manages a small laugh. ]
But seriously, are you having fun so far?
no subject
[And, after a quick glance around:]
It kind of helps that our company hasn't really come back. They must really need to make some friends around here.

[And they're FINALLY announcing the buffet. Finally.
Glancing over at his companion.]
Shall we?
no subject
Yeah, sure! I'll probably only get a few samples here and there.
no subject
[It probably is, but. Well. Hikaru has Very High Standards.]
no subject
Yeah, it better be! I didn't come out all the way here for anything less than excellent.
[ She says that quietly, of course. Wouldn't want the other people to think she was being a brat. ]

Yeah, that was fun. I think they were a bit relieved when we left but...
[ She throws her hands up, and stretching because sleepy, proceeds to shrug. ] Who cares, right?
no subject
[Opening the door once the car comes around, and climbing back into the driver's seat.]
I sure hope that your parents don't mind you getting back this late. I can talk to them, if you like.
no subject
I'm pretty sure they're okay with it. Perks of going out with someone who isnt' a creepy old guy, I guess.
[ Small chuckle. ]
no subject
Well, I am creepy, but definitely not old. Or bad-looking.
[And starting up the car.]
Should I take my time, or do we drive fast all over again?
no subject
Well, okay yeah you can be creepy sometimes.
I don't mind whichever you choose to do. [ She's actually just settling in the ultra comfy seats. ]
no subject

Offering his case, though, in her direction.]
Want?
no subject
So. Okay night?
no subject
[Lighting up, taking a drag, smiling at her.]
There's no need for you to modest about it.
[It did take his mind off a whole lot of things.]
no subject
She doesn't say anything anymore, surprisingly. She's just enjoying her Daddy's company. That and the nice car. ]
