[ Adding crazy amazing driving skills to the list of Amazing Daddy Things. ]

Yeah I wouldn't mind. We can even go around the block first before parking! [ She's clearly enjoying herself, and she wants it to be fun for both herself and Hikaru. Wouldn't want to drag him out here just to bore him. Besides, doing this makes her remember the good old World of Light times. Though she's having her fill of adventure with Netsach, it's always nice to return to simpler times, even just for a night. ]

Sounds like a good idea. We're going to have to check around for places to flee to if we end up bored later anyway.

[They could also pre-game, but there's sure to be a LOT of good booze at the party.

There better be, or Jessiah Vice is going to have one unhappy best friend on his hands, and Neeka Zobel de Ayala was going to have one pouty Blade King at her doorstep sometime in the near future.]

[ Brianna nods furiously, agreeing to what Hikaru says.

Formal gatherings only appeal to her because she gets to be all glammed up, but otherwise, she gets terribly bored very quickly. Guests acting extremely stiff and showing off their "finest" jewelry... Ick. ]

Yeah, that would actually be nice. There's probably a nice place around here somewhere we can duck into!

And what's your definition of 'nice'? Clean, well-lighted place, or dark, dangerous and full of evil indulgences?

[Because he is fine with both. Heh.]

[ She thinks about it for a good few seconds. It might be awkward to be in a hole-in-the-wall sort of establishment with a gown on.

But then again... Who cares, right? ]

Let's go for whichever seems to hold a potential for a unforgettable night, yes?

[And now he's slowing down significantly since they've just reached the area - a new section of Makati, deliberately structured to be a wonderland of gardens and 'wholesome' entertainment establishments. The ball itself is taking place in the Aviary, which is one of the top-of-the-line party venues of Metro Manila now.

Young Incorporated built it, together with Ayala Land, funded by Vice Enterprises. Go figure.]

They've got a lot of coffee shops around here, and a few nice restaurants. Let me know if you spot anything interesting.

Great! [ She smiles. It's nice to be in the company of someone who's good with whatever. Still, she wants to be conscious of her decisions. She wants to have fun but she also wants it to be a good night for Hikaru. ]

Oh, we're here! There are a few okay places around here but they're nothing really special. Let's just play it by ear.

Sounds like a plan.

[Pulling up the driveway smoothly, and - interestingly enough - shutting the car off before he steps out. Opening the door for her now, and offering his arm.]

Here we are, indeed.

[Cameras, people everywhere. Time to smile for the camera, and - just because he can - clicking one particular button on that key that starts his car up automatically. It drives off like a good little machine to find a place where it can park itself.]

[ She gets out the car graciously. Like a lady. And she wraps an arm around his, smiling.

In her mind, she's thinking of how some girls and boys...? could probably be punching themselves in envy at the sight of who her date is.

And then Hikaru pulls a trick with his car and she is just blown away, amazed. ]

[Saying that just for her, even as he's already doing the Showman Thing. One must keep up appearances, after all.]

They're talking about us, you know. How shall we proceed, my lady?

[ Jessie comes up with the wildest but smartest things. That guy really is something.

She giggles and walks forward with Hikaru.

She says with a smirk: ] Oh, let them watch. I think we should carry on how we usually do, if you know what I mean. [ Cause we're obviously the most good looking pair here, tihee.

Bitch we're fabulous. ]

[And - just because there's a reporter close at hand, speculating out loud for her audience on why the Blade King has such a young and pretty Lopez for his date tonight - he leans in to kiss her on the cheek.]

Fine by me, love.

[Let them guess. They'll spell things out for them slowly, on their own time.]

[ As Hikaru leans in for a kiss, (and she knows it's both cos of their newfound daddy-daughter relationship and cos yknow, fun) she flashes the biggest smile she can manage for the cameras.

[Internally, he is laughing. It's rare to meet somebody this young who could keep up with his pace at a social gathering. Maybe tonight is going to be even more fun than expected.

After registering at the front desk, the two of them are ushered to a table full of people that Hikaru knows by face, name and reputation. The Philippine corporate world has always been a tiny one, and these days? Most of it operated hand-in-hand with the Vigil.

There were looks, questions, veiled comments. Deflections, though, were simple. Leading them around was also one of his favorite games.

And thank god they can smoke in here, because that is exactly what he is doing after their table mates had gone off to do the rounds and the networking (two things that he didn't need to do).]

You'd think that they'd put us with younger people. That might be my fault, though.

[ She laughs and plays along with Hikaru's cues and looks, poking fun at the other guests without them knowing. Nevertheless, she asks them how they are, how things have developed, mainly due to courtesy. ]

It really doesn't matter. [ she says, twirling her champagne glass by the stem ] Old, young, these things are always so boring. They throw balls like this almost annually. Year in and year out, it's the same.

[ She's relaxed her face and posture now, finally revealing on her face how bored she is. ]

True. I'd rather be with them, at any rate.

[Looking towards the doors and other entrances, where one can spot some black and midnight blue coats standing guard.]

Patrolling is a lot more meaningful than making nice.

[ And suddenly, Brianna's a bit guilty. She dragged him all the way out here when he'd rather be elsewhere, but at the same time, Tala's words are ringing in her ear: Daddy really needs to take a break.

She's fidgeting a bit in her seat. ]

[Noticing that. Covering her hand with a smile.]

Hey. I like being with you, okay? And I like being able to do something like this in good company.

[ Brianna doesn't have to play pretend, or at least not with Hikaru.

She slightly pouts and gives him Brianna Puppy Eyes™. ]

You mean it?
[ She looks down at her plate to reinforce full-on paawa effect. ]
Cause I really like being with my Daddy Hikaru too, no matter where and when.

[And it looks like he's picked up another daughter in the strangest possible fashion.

He really had to stop doing that. Family could be tricky, and yet --

Chuckling, and reaching out to gently poke her nose with one finger.]

I mean it. Now stop worrying about whether I'm having fun or not, because I am.

[ Been your daughter since April 17. Choice, you no has them.

She wrinkles her nose and smiles as he does that, then rolls her eyes in a playful, you've-defeated-me manner. ]

Okay fiiine, I believe you Daddy.

[ She smiles and laughs.

Yup, called it. Tonight would have totally gone a whole different way, had she gone with someone else.

And the night has just begun. ]

Good.

[And he's about to say more, but then he catches sight of a few boys sending furtive glances in Brianna's direction. He's calling Brianna's attention to it the moment he's certain that they won't notice, with a touch to her arm and a glance their way.]

You've got a lot of admirers.

[Well. How is she going to play this out?]

[ She was checking her nails when Hikaru very smoothly points out-- Oh God.

She discreetly rolls her eyes and turns to Hikaru. In a hushed voice: ]

Ick, tell me about it. This is kind of why I don't like going to these things without a date.
I feel like a pretty, fluffy rabbit out in an open field, roaming among like, predators or something.

[ And in an even softer but mischievous voice: ]

Hey, humor me on this, alright?

[Chuckling at that analogy because he can see it - to a point, anyway. If those boys knew what Brianna could do with a gun...

Sure. What do you need me to do?

[ When she's sure that the group of hormonal creatures are watching her and probably listening in, she lets out a big, hearty laugh and throws her arms around Hikaru.

She semi-yells out: ] Hikaru you're the best daddy ever!

[ Then she proceeds to lean her head affectionately on the Blade King's shoulder, and whispers to him: ]

Bet they're probably looking away now cause they don't want their manhood chopped off.

[ She follows that with a giggle. ]
